This is still easily abused by players I was in a toxic duty finder where the tank attempted to vote kick our healer because they were checking out stats on a gear drop, that attempt failed, then he vote kicked me for accidentally grabbing a mob while he typed a message pretaining to the main story. I M O its justified when the majority of the party thinks a member should be kicked. I think mostly this is a lesson to me. The design relies on players acting in good faith, so it's hard to say. Maybe you were a healer and weren't with your team in a crucial moment. than to deal with people who abuse it. The vote kick lasts for 40 seconds. While "You don't pay my sub" is a meme at this point, I think it represents a mentality that is very much present in this game.
